Pale green label with black print from the very late 1940's. Catalog numbers
L-6 through 17 reported. While the label indicates Chicago, the geographic
origins of the discs is still unresolved.
LAFF-DISC
1950's maroon label with silver print which specialized in spoken word records
rather than music. Numbered stepwise with 303 followed by 404, etc. through
808, plus 400. Succeeded by L D.

EDWARDS in 1938. In 1955 pianist Ben Light recorded for Label "X",
an RCA product designed to imitate pirate 10" LP jazz records. 78 RPM
pop material was eventually added but it is not a party label! Died Jan.
6, 1965 in Hollywood at the age of 72.

Beatrice LILLIE
Real name Constance Sylvia Gladys Munston; Lady Peel. Born 1893 (or May
29, 1894) in Toronto Canada, died Jan 20, 1989. Popular on both the London
and New York stages, appeared in the Third Little Show in 1931. Billed as
"the funniest woman in the world", her knack for maintaining a
Victorian decorum amidst vulgarity was often imitated.

A very late Hollywood entry in the 78 R.P.M. game, these became available
in the early 1980's from Richard James Hite. The catalog consists of two dubs of unreleased Brunswick
tests and two postwar blues from master pressings. Maroon and silver label,
numbers 7000-7003.
