Section 1. Meetings
1.1 Scheduling
Each undergraduate chapter shall hold meetings at staled
intervals in accordance with the
chapter bylaws at least once each week of the University college
term (NBL 28.11)
Monday nights shall be allocated for the meetings and they shall
not be adjourned or any
person excused early without the consent of the President and if
considered necessary by the
President a chapter meeting may be rescheduled, but this exception
shall not hold true for two
consecutive meetings.
The AM class shall meet once a week, at a time designated by the
AM Director.
1.2 Attendance
All anticipated absences or 1 ate arrivals are to bereported to
the President and excuse approvals
are at his discretion.
1.3 Voting
Two-thirds of all the undergraduate eligible voting members of
the chapter shall constitute
a quorum sufficient for the transaction of all business except as
otherwise provided for. (NBL
27.51)
For bylaw changes, tlirce-quarters of the active chapter
constitutes a quorum.
All motions voted on by the active chapter must be for the
purpose of creating or amending
either a chapter bylaw or a chapter action except as provided for in
the National constitution
and bylaws.
Any motion requiring expenditures of money must state the amount
and budget category it
concerns.
Any member who is in the arrears shall lose his right to vote and
speak during meetings.
2.3 Executive Council Actions
Executive Council actions may be created or amended only by a
majority vote of a quorum
of the Executive Council.
Executive Council actions shall remain in effect until the
installation of the next Exccuuvc
Council.
Executive Council actions shall not violate chapter bylaws.
Executive Council acuons may be recinded by a majority vote of a
quorum of the active
chapter.
Section 3. Elections
3.1 Election Regulations
No person can be elected unless he fulfills the qualifications as
prescribed in the National
Constitution and Bylaws of Theta Xi.
The order of nomination and election shall follow the order shown
in the organization chart
under general qualifications included in this section.
The candidate receiving a majority—fifty percent plus one vote—of
the ballots cast will be
declared the winner. If no single candidate receives a majority,
