West Coast pressings have black labels with silver print and the more elaborate label style which states "recorded in Hollywood". Later discs manufactured by the Clark Phonograph Co. In Newark, NJ. are credited to Novelty Record Company and have plain black labels with a greenish-gold print similar to that used on wartime Hit Records. with numbers 5X, a 100-118 series and album 500 (rose red label) with sides labeled A/B , C/D and E/F. No relation to the red R&B label. Almost all known issues are 1930's and ‘40's releases of Ray Bourbon material in albums. Eli Oberstein's Elite label was briefly produced by a company called Imperial and even released an 'X' series (non-party). The name was changed when it was discovered that a label in Florida claimed prior use, perhaps it was Bourbon’s.
